NEVER INTENDED TO BE SIMPLY A PIECE OF FURNITURE. SOME THINGS ARE BETTER DISCOVERED THAN EXPLAINED.

Rosetta Daybed

Each button conceals a soft nappa cord. A single switch allows each cord to be drawn and arranged individually. Pressed back, it simultaneously retracts and tensions every cord in use.

Within the Daybed’s wooden shell, eighteen individual mechanisms remain concealed from view — creating a mechanical experience that is tactile, deliberate and revealed only when called upon.

CHRISTOPHER ROSETTA

More than a decade of direct experience with materials, manufacturing and the realization of complex objects preceded Rosetta Regime. Much of that time was spent translating the ideas of others into physical form. It was from this experience that his own practice emerged.

His work brings together design with an intimate understanding of how things are actually made — from wood, leather and metal to the mechanics concealed within them.

The Rosetta Daybed is the first object to emerge from this practice.
